Children's Choir

The New Children's Choir meets twice a month for ages K-8th grade.  They will sing monthly at worship along with special services.  The Choir meets after Worship at 11:15am in the Sanctuary.  The Choir is under the direction of Graham Jackson, our music leader at worship and a professional teacher of music and theater here in Southern California.  To register please use the QR Code below or go to https://share.fluro.io/form/63f93350608aa8002426fc19

Vacation Bible School

VBS - Summer 2025

Children are invited on a 2.5 hour journey each day for a week to explore stories and themes of the Bible and them share what they learned in song and presentations on Sunday at the 10am Worship. The next VBS is June 23-27 and June 29th. Our theme is True North.  We will have 4 stations - Bible Story, Games, Crafts and Imagination (science experiments) plus Snack time.  We begin with an exciting opening of music, dance, video and introducing the day's theme led by Pastor Jim.

Sunday School  - 10:15 to 11:00 am

Children ages 3 - 11 start in the Worship at 10am and then leave after the Children's sermon to learn, grow, bond and have fun in the Christian faith. They meet on the patio outside the classrooms and church office.  On colder or hotter days they will meet indoors.

Faith Stepping Stones...SML 

Faith Stepping Stones is a family ministry program that recognizes critical faith development stages in  a child's life.  It provides faith-based education from baptism to graduation through a series of  faith stepping stones.  At these critical stages, we, as the body of Christ, come alongside parents to offer teaching, support and encouragement for them and their children

Worship (Grades 1-3)

This stepping stone is a two-week course  that focuses on what worship is, how we do worship, explore a worship service and participate in it, create a banner and more.  Classes will be held on Jan 12 @ 11:30am and Jan 22, 2025 @ 6:30pm and the children will help assist in worship on January 26, 2025

Let's Pray (Grade 1+)

This Stepping stone is a two-week course that actually helps children and parents learn different ways you can pray, some fun ideas to help suggest things to pray about, and to share about how prayer is a powerful way to talk with God. Class was August 11 and 18, 2024 @ 11:30am. Blessing at Worship on Sept 8, 2024.

My Bible (Grade 3+)

This stepping stone is a three-week course that  helps children learn how Bible basic such  understanding books, chapters and verses and how to look them up and will also help them feel comfortable actually using a Bible  for reading, devotion and study.  Those who complete this course will receive a new Bible that will have highlighted scriptures from every book of the Bible.  Classes will be at 12:45pm on September 22, and 11:30am on September 29 and October 6. Blessing and Receiving of Bibles on October 27 at worship.

First Communion (Grades 3+)

THIS TWO-WEEK COURSE HELPS CHILDREN UNDERSTAND WHAT HOLY COMMUNION IS ALL ABOUT AND WHY IT IS SIGNIFICANT WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT .  IT WILL ALSO REVIEW THE HOLY COMMUNION WORSHIP AND HELP THE STUDENTS UNDERSTAND IT’S DIFFERENT PARTS AND HOW IT ALL WORKS, INCLUDING TASTE OF THE BREAD AND WINE/JUICE.  THERE IS EVEN AN OPTION TO MAKE COMMUNION BREAD.  THOSE WHO COMPLETE THIS COURSE CAN PARTICIPATE IN OUR SPECIAL FIRST COMMUNION WORSHIP EVENT. THE CLASSES WOULD BE April 2 and 9, 2025 AT 5:00PM AND FIRST COMMUNION ON April 17, 2025 AT 6:30PM

Wet and free (Grade 5-6)

This Stepping Stone is designed to help older children and their parents live out their baptismal promises in everyday life In a fun half day event that includes service, sharing, playing with water and more.  Event will be in Summer 2025

Seasons and Colors of the Church Year (Grade 1+)

This one week course introduces children and parents to what the colors in the church are all about and what are the Seasons of the Church and why they can help us to better understand and connect with the life of Jesus and Jesus himself.  This course will be held  Sun. Dec. 8, 2024 @ 11:30am

ADDITIONAL STONES
  • Confirmation is a two-year faith learning program for 7th grade and older that concludes with the Rite of Confirmation
  • Graduation is a special recognition and blessing at worship for those graduating from High School or College

Family Events

Periodically , we have events geared to Families with children 1-12.  Recent events included a pool party, a cookout and sharing time, and a parents' seminar with Dr. Rich Melheim.  Future events include a camping trip, a Christmas party and an effective way to help grow faith in the family.
