Blessing of the Animals

On the day we remember Francis of Assissi, we celebrate the gifts of God wonderful creation. In the fields, trees, mountains and oceans we see the wonder of God's creative hand and it invites to give praise to our Creator. One of the things, Francis is best known for was his preaching and blessings to the animals. And in our pets and animals we not only experience a connection to all of creation, but also a bond of comfort, care, service and love that points us to always back to God and invites to spend time with our Creator in prayer and meditation.
